Thoughts On Money Stories Carnival Plus Articles For January 12, 2007

by Silicon Valley Blogger on January 12, 2007

I’d like to start out by discussing the brand spanking new “Carnival of Money Stories”. I had been in some discussion with the host, Andy from Money Walks, about his interest in starting a new carnival but there was initially some question about what kind of angle he should take to avoid overlap with existing finance carnivals. We discussed a platform for people’s personal stories: the emphasis, being your own personal experiences, whether it be in finance or business, or whether you are managing your own money or trying to make it in the many ways that it can be acquired. If you can relate a concept or a news article to yourself at a personal level, then that would be a great fit for “Money Stories.”

I’m very happy that he’s relaunched the carnival for this purpose so that this could perhaps encourage more originality in content in the form of views, musings and story-telling. And it’s off to an awesome start! Great job Andy! Many thanks for putting this together.

The Carnival of Money Stories #2 hosted at Money Walks has Earning My Dad’s Respect. This article, to me, represents what this carnival is about: a story straight from the heart.

Dear Curly/SVB,

Thank you for linking to Can I conquer my vanity for the sake of my sanity? at Wise bread.

We’re a group of bloggers each trying to “live large on a small budget”, and Wise Bread is where we share our stories and life tips. That post is one of my favorites on the site as well!

We’ve only been online for a month or so, but the response has been fantastic. I guess lots of people are also struggling to live large on small budgets. ;)

Best wishes for the new year!

Greg
