The finance carnivals are now up and running for the week. You can find great articles at these hot spots!
The Carnival of Personal Finance #92 at Lazy Man And Money includes Planning For Receiving An Inheritance? where mbhunter talks about handling a touchy subject. There’s also this great article called What Is Your Market Value? which discusses how to best position yourself prior to asking for a raise. I’d also I’d like to thank Lazy for selecting my article How Stressed Are You? Rating The Most Stressful Financial Events to be one of his Editor’s picks!
The Festival of Frugality #66: A Carnival of Money & Poetry at The Frugal Duchess produced this piece I enjoyed: The B(argain shopping) Team. Now if only I can find such a team of people in my vicinity.
The Carnival of Debt Reduction #79 had a unique theme as presented by Ask Mr. Credit Card. You may call this presentation as the “Debt Reduction University Course and Requirements” edition. Go take the course and receive your marks afterwards!
The Carnival of Money Stories #7 at Wisebread was a trip. I love how this carnival is really picking up steam and giving us enlightening content and great advice in story form. I couldn’t pick an article to highlight as the entries were all equally fabulous, so please visit Wisebread for a storytelling escapade.
The Carnival of Taxes #14 at Don’t Mess With Taxes gives us “Countdown To Tax Day!” Read up on these posts to get ready for the big day, if you haven’t already.
And even more exciting for us was hearing about some life changing news from a fellow personal finance blogger: Tricia from Blogging Away Debt is expecting her second child. Someone else in the pf blogosphere just had wonderful news as well, but since he hasn’t announced anything, I thought not to preempt his story and have opted to send my wishes privately.
Stay tuned for more carnivals and/or news by end of the week!
Update: Tricia at Blogging Away Debt has just written about some sad news pertaining to her situation. My thoughts are with her. ![]()

Thanks for mentioning the Festival of Frugality and one of the articles from the Bargain Queen that was featured in the carnival.
I also liked your bag lady piece: “Could being exceptionally frugal be a sign of bag lady syndrome?”
Take care
How do you have time for this? I’m seriously impressed.
Thanks for mentioning my article “What is Your Market Value?”. I’m a regular reader of your blog, so I am double greatful for the love.
Frugal Zeitgeist,
I noticed that you are a new blogger — have you checked out finance carnivals yet? These are venues where you can submit your posts for more visibility. Most of the pf blogosphere joins in the fun every week. It’s really not as time consuming as you may think. You can participate in the big ones such as the Carnival of Personal Finance, Carnival of Investing, Festival of Frugality. There are many other good ones I join on a weekly basis. It’s a great way to meet new bloggers and introduce yourself to the pf blogosphere!
For more info, check out my Carnivals menu button and the category “Money Articles/Blog Carnivals” on my right sidebar!
You and Shadox write really great articles and I enjoy the info you folks offer. Frugal Duchess is also da bomb!
Thanks a lot - glad you like the articles, and I’ll take a look at the carnivals. It’ll have to be when I’m over this cold, though. I feel like I’m going to die.
