Here are a few things I’ve been up to so far, plus a hint of what’s coming next week!
Check Out These Finance Carnivals
I visited the money carnivals today and here were some great reads I came across:
Carnival of Personal Finance #94 at No Credit Needed yielded these goodies:
- Is Your Financial Fortress Termite Infested? This article smokes out all the pesky financial pests that you may have eating at your wealth.
- The One Idea That Can Save You Millions of Dollars is advice that FMF has actively promoted for some time. It’s a tough one to follow through with, as it does take effort to fulfill, but yeah, moving to a cheaper area can indeed save you millions when executed right.
- Don’t Put Your Kids First tells us to think of our own retirement before funding tuition, which is a popular argument made by finance bloggers. A similar argument is made in the article, A New Retirement Plan.
Festival of Frugality #68 is at Mapgirl’s Fiscal Challenge this week.
- The 5 Best Ways To Save Money At Starbucks tells you how to get your morning fix or afternoon pick-me-up despite skipping out on the more expensive drinks.
- 15 Tips for Cheap Travel: How To Find Cheap Plane Tickets provides some detailed and helpful information about how to get good ticket prices to make a dent on your travel budget.
- Do You Buy Online To Avoid Paying Sales Tax? Well this is the first time I’ve ever heard of a “use tax” (which is the sales tax equivalent for out of state purchases that you bring in state, according to the post) and for the life of my tax return, I’ve never recalled having such a tax figuring into our calculations.

I’ve also participated in a few guest posting gigs over at Consumerism Commentary and My Two Dollars. Flexo and David both have some guest articles lined up while they’re out partying somewhere.
