Here’s my reading list from last week. Is it just me or is this getting longer?
Stuff I Enjoyed From The Last Week
- The Sun’s Financial Diary: If you have a little gold in your diversified portfolio, you’d be happy camper right now. Too bad gold hasn’t returned much over the long term.
- Lazy Man And Money: Lazy Man is reevaluating his money priorities and has decided to stop his Prosper contributions at this time. He’s giving his 401K more attention for now.
- Money Smart Life: What do you do about those retirement planning invitations you get in the mail? Here’s Ben’s experience.
- Gen X Finance: Here are some really interesting facts and stats covering IRS Criminal Investigations for the year 2007.
- Money, Matter and More Musings: A nice explanation of the interest rate cycle and why interest rates are looking to be headed downward. I’m just as interested in buying into this climate as Golbguru is. My strategy is to nibble into stocks as they deflate even further.
- Mighty Bargain Hunter: Would you borrow money from people you know? Before you do, consider the pros and cons of person-to-person loans.
- Five Cent Nickel: Now this is an idea I can embrace: refilling an old tube of toothpaste! And yes, not necessarily to save money but to save time!
- Blueprint For Financial Prosperity: I think paperless personal finance is the bomb and I’m so sold on it that I sure have overlooked its risks. This is good to know.
- All Financial Matters: September is great for pools, barbecues and yard parties, but really, it’s not been a kind month for stocks. Here’s the proof.
- Free Money Finance: Be careful about overdoing your resume so that it doesn’t get misconstrued as having more style over substance. It would be nice to be able to strike a good balance.
- The Simple Dollar: Reducing food costs is a goal we have. I need to pour through this list to see what adjustments we could make.
- The Consumerist: This is amusing. The worst $10 coupon ever. Too unusable for words.
- Living Behind The Curve: A big congratulations to Dani for reaching a 100 subscribers after 3+ months of blogging! It’s very gratifying to reach personal milestones especially after putting in the long, grueling hours into a blog. (Okay just kidding. Blogging is fun. :D)
- The Happy Rock: Okay, this has to be one of the most fun posts of the week: the mechanics of separating two ply toilet paper! Plus a poll to boot!
- Not Made Of Money: Your story is my story. Kids jump on furniture. Furniture break. Go to Craigslist for bargain priced pieces. Everyone is happy.
- Dr. Housing Bubble: As usual, here’s another look at the housing bubble bust by one of my favorite real estate blogs.

Ha! No, it’s not just you - I’m having the same problem, so I’ve decided to post three or so links a day instead of 20 once a week
The Consumerist link was priceless. That is one worthless coupon…
