I’ve got time for a quick roundup of great carnival articles. The Carnival of Personal Finance #121 - Columbus Day Edition was held at Ask Mr. Credit Card and was nicely presented as a Q & A segment among our leading presidential candidates. From the animated dialogue by the candidates, these stories emerged:
- Property tax problems for customers of bankrupt lender @ Don’t Mess With Taxes
- Uncover The Truth About Needs and Wants @ Millionaire Mommy Next Door
- Selling and Sucking your Soul: Ethics and Finance @ Mrs. Micah: Finance and Life
- What we’re giving up for private school and why @ Chief Family Officer
- The One Hour Project: Thirty Ways To Use One Hour To Improve Your Finances - And Open The Door To More Riches @ The Simple Dollar
There’s a whole lot more to read at the 95th Festival of Frugality hosted at My Retirement Blog:
- 27 Ways To Save Money On Food @ Frugal Law Student
- The $.60 Verizon Cell Phone Battery at Amazon.com @ The Happy Rock
- Money Saving Monday Tip #12 - Repair Your Own Car @ Gather Little By Little
I’d also like to thank the hosts for selecting my posts as their Editor’s choices this week.
And finally, here are more worthwhile pieces I came across:
Other Visits around The Web
- Fiscal Fitness: Eliminate Debt with 10 Successful Diet Principles @ Zen Habits
- Revive a Dead Laptop Battery in the Freezer @ Lifehacker
- How About Not Buying An iPod? @ The Consumerist

Thanks for the mention!
Thanks for the link, SVB! I enjoy your writing, by the way.
Thank you SVB!
Thanks for the mention and for your comment - I’m glad someone else thinks the same way! (and I’m especially glad that it’s you)
Thanks everyone!
Brett: Thanks so much for the RSS endorsement on your site!! That means so much.
MMND, ditto from me — I truly love how you are able to explain the millionaire’s and entrepreneurial concepts so well. Your writings are always very inspiring. I look to your example as a goal for myself!
Glblguy: great job you are doing! Keep up the great work :).
CFO, you were correct about the topic of education being a controversial (even explosive) topic on the net. It is. I actually belong to a parents and community forum where it gets pretty heated whenever the mere mention of private or public school comes up. I doubt things will change anywhere on the net! But we are all entitled to how we would like to live our lives. People should stop being judgmental about others’ choices because each individual’s personal situation is different. We arrive at the decisions we do based on many variables, most of the time carefully considered with many many hours of debate, discussion and contemplation in the household.
Nice. I liked the property tax problem article the most, as many people aren’t as familiar with property tax issues and all that. I’ll definitely check out the rest of these articles. Great job…………..
