January was a roller coaster of a month and once more, we’re ending it with a few lists. FIRE Finance has produced their Top PF Bloggers list for December 2007, and things have shuffled about a little. We even made it to the list with a nice mention from the FIRE Finance team, along with a reminder that for you bloggers out there, it would be good for your traffic numbers if you take steps to get your stats counted by Quantcast and Compete (via tracking scripts and plugins) so that ranking exercises like those undertaken by FIRE Finance can reflect your numbers accurately.
Again, despite a horrible start for stocks and continuing malaise in the economy, real estate and credit markets, we’re seeing brighter days for our blog thanks to our traffic sources, and awesome readers and subscribers! Speaking of which, if you haven’t had a chance yet, this is a great time to subscribe to our automatic updates using this link.

I found about your site from The Simple Dollar. You have a nice site, I have enjoyed reading your articles.
Working Dollar,
I read more about you on your site and you have a highly interesting background! Thanks for all the details. I have to say that Trent has contributed tremendously to the growth of this site. I owe him a lot actually

Mrs Micah is really a force of nature in the pf world
I`ll be in the top commentators for this month
Thanks for the mention SVB! I love the blog, it is one of my must-reads of the day!
I hope I can grow my blog to the size where I can contribute as much traffic to your site as your have mine!
Thanks again!
Hmmm… interesting, there are now two Racers who come by to visit here and comment! Cool! Racer2 and RacerX, are you guys related?
And btw, RacerX — regarding your comment: I so appreciate it. It’s that kind of feedback that really spurs me on to do this work. It’s fulfilling to know that people come back to read our work on a regular basis. Thanks so much.
The Digerati Life is a daily read for me, if my feed tells me there is not a new article. I enjoy reading through the archives almost as much as I enjoy reading your latest material (ok, not quite as much!). Here’s to another great month!
Of course the comment above should read “, even if my feed tells me there is not a new article.” I didn’t mean to sound as if I only visited if there was no new material! Sometimes my fingers get ahead of brain.
Thanks for the mention. I always enjoy reading your site. There is always something new and interesting on tap.
Frugal Dad and everyone else,
I’ve always wished I could write more substantial articles and pick up my pace. It’s always so fulfilling to get feedback on the articles I’ve provided.
I’d love to offer more posts that are shorter. But I can’t help it… I end up writing a novel per post (well, almost
), and doing so prevents me from posting as often as I’d like (else I wouldn’t have a life!). Maybe one day, I’ll master the ability to write succinct, “to-the-point” articles at a more frequent pace. Till then… hope you’ll enjoy the novels!
*blushing madly* Thanks very much, SVB.
Congrats on your excellent rating in the top bloggers list!!
I like long articles and your template handles them very well. I would like to write longer articles, but they don’t work well in my current set-up. I am looking for different themes right now. Thanks for your blog, you do a great job!
One of these days when I actually get to read through my feed reader on a regular basis I might make it on your top commentator list.
I just discovered your site and I think you’ll be seeing a lot more traffic from me.
SVB, I think you made a mistake on ZenHabits URL. It should be ZenHabits.net.
@Teejay,
Ooops! Talk about embarrassing. Thanks for the heads up! I’ve made the necessary correction.
How have your ventures been? I’ve been looking to get more updates from your sites.
Thanks for the mention and detailed explanation. Enjoyed the comments
Generous of you to share the top sources of traffic to your blog
Just to emphasize that in order to achieve sustained traffic to your blog or site, you need two key ingredients
