Stop Checking Your Stocks, The Frugality Habit, Subprime Thoughts @ The Carnivals

by Silicon Valley Blogger on February 6, 2008

In honor of the Super Bowl, I’m presenting you some super bowl like events that were held in the financial blogosphere this week. Many carnivals I encountered had a bowl-like theme to them so I’m guessing a lot of financial bloggers are fans! :) I personally did not catch the game (we don’t watch the sports channel if you can believe it!) but heard a bit about the commercials, which you can catch here. I must be the odd person out?

The latest personal finance get together was held at I’ve Paid For This Twice Already, who has done a great job with her own financial superbowl event called Here’s Your Team for The Superbowl of Personal Finance! (Carnival #138). My picks for this superbowl are:

The Festival of Frugality #111: Personal Finance Bowl was at Being Frugal. Find these pieces and many more over there!

And at the Carnival of Debt Reduction #125 – Super Bowl XLII Edition I have to thank Broke Grad Student for choosing my post to be an Editor’s Choice!

Finally, I was very pleased that Blog Her has featured my post: Top 10 Cheapest Ways To Exercise in one of their articles this week: Do You Need A Gym To Work Out? Think Again. It’s an honor!

Thanks for the link!

Can’t believe that you don’t watch the Super Bowl. . . I think you are the only person.

Although I heard that more people watched the ads than watched the actual game.

Thanks for the mention. Funny how the commercials during the Super Bowl are often more entertaining than the actual game. Although this year I think the game won the battle!

Digi, you missed a great game. The commercials were terribly lacking this year in my opinion. The only entertaining part was watching the Terminator rumble with the Fox Sports robot. :)

Yes, I heard it was pretty interesting. I recall that the only time I would watch the Superbowl in the past was when the 49′ers were in it. I don’t even know who played this year. Man, I’m so out of it!

The game was great this year, buy hey, if you’re not into it, you’re just not into it. The links here are good as well by the way.
