What Happened This Week?

The Alpha Consumer blog announced a challenge asking bloggers to describe their best ideas for a cheap but effective (!) date. I am so past my dating days that I’d be resurrecting ideas from the deepest recesses of my brain to be able to participate in this challenge. If I come up with a good idea, I’ll be writing about it….but don’t hold your breath!

Moolanomy turned one year old last week. Congratulations on this milestone and may you blog your way to infinity!

I got a great mention on BlogHer in their article: When Less is More: Why diet when you can live frugally? The article explores the ties between diet, food and living frugally. Did I mention I’ve been trying to lose weight lately?

MoneyNing was recently quoted in the New York Times! I also see some other bloggers mentioned in the New York Times article, including Saving Advice and Instigator Blog, which I’ve been following ever since I was a blogging noob. ;) Nice job, guys!

Clever Dude asks what you would do when you dine as a group and need to split the check. Nice question! We keep the goodwill and just decide to split the check evenly, even if it means absorbing costs we didn’t incur during the meal. Why?
