We’ve updated our Black Friday deals on this page. If you’re looking for some online holiday sales and discounts, then we invite you to check out a few of our favorite retailers below. I usually start my shopping early but I’ve been a bit sluggish about it this year — but there are just so many sales on the web these days that I am sure I won’t have trouble catching up. So for online Black Friday deals and Cyber Monday savings, try out the following coupon codes and promotions, which are usually only valid for a small period of time (though some can still be used beyond the Black Friday weekend). I’ve joked before that there is no way that you’ll catch me in a store during Black Friday. I just don’t see the after-Thanksgiving deals in brick-and-mortar stores as being worth the hassle and risk. Maybe you’re thinking of donning your coat and gloves to head to the malls to join the holiday shopping rush, but before you do, you may want to compare prices on items found around the internet vs what you actually come across during your store visits.

The discounts I normally encounter range from half off to 90% off, with free shipping, so these could very well be good deals. Some of the things here are for a limited time (the deal could expire fairly quickly), while some are in short supply, so you may want to check the terms carefully.

My point is that if you are resourceful enough, you may find some great online deals out there this Black Friday and you won’t have to fear getting trampled by a manic crowd.

I like to shop on Black Friday, when I go shopping with my family. I feel glad and excited about Christmas shopping trips. Most people I know are pretty excited about Black Friday retail events because they get big discounts on different things. Are you going to be out making the rounds on stores on this day?

By time I get to the stores on Black Friday, most of the stuff is picked over and all of the good deals are gone. I wanted to buy a netbook from Target on Black Friday, but I can’t see myself at the store at midnight, 5am, or 6am. There are so many deals that I would like to get, but don’t plan on shopping all day Friday plus don’t have the funds to get the stuff that I want.

The trends show that online shopping is gaining ground on traditional shopping — but right now, they’re on equal footing as far as the average consumer. I intend to write more about these findings at a later point. I agree that it’s a madhouse out there and it continues to be each year! Many people treat Black Friday as a tradition and they enjoy the hype and lap up the experience.

If you’re looking for the most convenient way to shop on Black Friday, why not try some of these resources out? These are some interesting mobile apps for the smartphone (particularly iPhone and Android). Some of them include:

1. DealNews.com Black Friday App – filters stores with BF coupons. You can share what you find via social media channels (Facebook, Twitter).

2. TGI Black Friday App – does the same thing as #1.

3. Lemon.com App – fancy name for a tool that allows you to photograph and digitize store receipts.

4. GoSlice.com – an app that will organize the stuff in your email inbox. It will track your purchases and orders, and will also help you analyze your spending patterns.

5. Zaarly.com and TaskRabbit.com – both allow you to outsource the job of waiting in store lines to someone else. These are services that allow you to hire people for errands.

6. SnapTell from Amazon – snap a picture of an item and it figures out its prices at local stores and online retailers.

7. Foursquare – Use this app and some of their partner retailers will give you free cash cards, sales and discounts.
