Over Contributions To Your 401k, High Unemployment Rate @ The Carnivals

The hazards…. and pleasures of being a carnival host. ;)

I haven’t hosted a personal finance carnival in ages. I feel that it’s time for me to try it out again as a host. The thing about serving up these carnivals is that it takes a LOT of work. Every time I’ve worked on the Carnival of Personal Finance in particular (well, I’ve done it twice ever — see the 91 Ways To Wealth edition and the Money, Finance and Fancy Christmas edition of the CoPF — it would take me all weekend to do since there’s a lot of reading involved along with fashioning the post. With more and more entries in the carnivals these days, I’m sure being a host is now an even bigger job than it ever was. But doing this is a wonderful chance to visit financial blogs you may have not seen before — so ultimately, I find it to be quite a fulfilling project. Maybe I’ll get to be a host sometime later this year. We’ll see!

One other thing — do check out the MBN Group Project this month which is at All Financial Matters. Lots of good stuff about kids and money! My entry for this project is “How Much Do You Need To Save For College?“, an article that talks about tools and strategies for our goals to save for college.

Now on to some fabulous links…
