Thanks to Five Cents Ten Cents, I decided to create some fun art work using money words and other tags we often use around here
. This cool word art is by Wordle, where you can make your very own beautiful word cloud.
Neat huh?
Also, I received a message from The Wild Investor the other day about an eBook he has available to those of you who are interested in investing or stock trading. His new book is called “Guide To Entering The Stock Market” and is free to everyone. I reviewed it and it’s pretty straightforward: it tells you where to go to have your money start working harder for you. Check it out and get yourself started with investing… asap!
Massive Personal Finance Roundup
- My Money Blog: Jonathan has a number of posts covering 401k loans. He gives out some examples to better explain the concept of double-taxation (or lack thereof) of 401k loans.
- Blogging Away Debt: Trisha saves money by being resourceful, and shows us some pictures of the cherry picker she made herself. It’s a nice craft project you can do with the kids!
- Free Money Finance discusses Yahoo’s top three career dilemmas.
- Five Cent Nickel walks us through the history of the federal minimum wage. Very eye-opening to see how the minimum wage stands in today’s dollars and in comparison to the current poverty level.
- Lazy Man and Money takes a mid-year look at his 2008 goals and finds out that he’s on track in only two out of six goals he’s set for himself. I’m actually on a similar track as Lazy Man given the same resolutions. Meeting goals is hard work!
- Money Smart Life takes a look at investing in commodity ETFs. I find this very timely since I’m hoping to further diversify our investment portfolio by adding commodities to our mix.
- Gen X Finance reminds us about the top money mistakes most people make. In that spirit, I’d like to share with you the top money mistakes I’ve made that have cost me over a thousand dollars each!
- The Sun’s Financial Diary: Yay! I’ve met a fellow non-budgeter
. Sun confesses that he doesn’t budget but offers the Google personal monthly budget template to those who DO budget. - Mighty Bargain Hunter: Can you handle the financial truth? MBHunter reflects over the effects of harsh financial advice on those who are on the receiving end of such advice.
- No Credit Needed: NCN just worked out his will and I feel strongly compelled to follow suit, stop procrastinating and get our estate planning done. It is quite embarrassing for me to admit that I have a huge to-do list of financially related errands I desperately need to attend to!
- Million Dollar Journey: Here’s a look at the oil bubble argument. Are we in the midst of an oil bubble that comes at the heels of many previous bubbles (tech, real estate, Chinese stock market bubble and so forth)?
- Brip Blap: The world is made of big picture people (drivers) and small picture people (engines). You need both to have a well functioning system.
- My Dollar Plan just “retired”, prompting Fathersez to consider making changes as well. I also “retired” back in February, but not in the real sense of the word. I’ve simply changed gears to become a “small business owner“. With Madison’s announcement, there’s now a grand total of THREE(!) Money Writers who are “pro-blogging”!
- Free From Broke muses about a another economic stimulus package. Like FFB, I’m not comfortable with the concept of more government handouts — there’s always a catch down the road, and it’s not pretty. Here are our thoughts on a second stimulus check and the 2009 economic stimulus package.
- Cash Money Life tells us how to make a million: earn money, spend less than you earn, save the money and invest it. Great advice! Here are my own thoughts about how to become a millionaire.
- Rich Credit Debt Loan has some ideas to help us hold on to our homes during this real estate market crisis.
- Finance and Fat: World of Warcraft is evil, especially since it’s known to make you gain weight and affect your fitness level.
- Bible Money Matters: Uh oh. More trouble with money — are we headed for a credit card crisis now?
- Five Cents Ten Cents comes up with some funny ways to get your financial points across. Hope you’re still popular after trying out these tips!
