It’s midweek everyone, and you know what that means? Other than finding out who gets the boot from American Idol, it’s also time for some “money carnival” fun.
The Carnival of Personal Finance #93 at Tired But Happy yielded a lengthy list of notable articles, including:
- Become a Google Finance Power User: 13 Tips and Hacks, which takes you step by step through Google Finance.
- 5 Ways Balding Gracefully Can Save You Time, Money And More made me chuckle as it reminded me of the plight of my male associates, plus that of my own husband.
- Morality of Deducting Charitable Contributions brings up an interesting question about whether or not someone should deduct the amounts they’ve donated to charity. I have the same sentiments as Jim does on this one.
- The Art of Negotiating the Lowest Price is a primer on haggling. This type of activity is big in my culture, but I have to say I need to brush up on these skills!
The Carnival of Debt Reduction #80 at Millionster contains:
- Prioritize Your Bills In Your Debt Reduction Efforts, which suggests the order in which you can pay your bills if you’re ever in a pinch.
The Festival of Under 30 Finances, March 23rd Edition at Money Crashers has some good reads as well such as:
- Make A Retirement Contribution – Get A Tax Credit which encourages you to look into the retirement tax credit. Unfortunately, I don’t qualify!
- Ideas for Generating (Side) Income with Limited Start-up Investment has some recommendations for making extra money: donate blood plasma anyone? *faint*
More on this week’s carnivals by the end of the week!

SVB,
Thanks for mentioning my post on tax credits. It’s a great tax credit for a lot of folks just starting their careers. And an excellent way to get the government to help fund a Roth IRA.
