This coming Monday will be an interesting and eventful day in the blogosphere, for we are celebrating “Blog Action Day”, when blogs will be united with a common voice to bring the topic of the environment to the forefront. Participating blogs will be writing about the environment in their own way and style and will join in by doing any or all of the following things:
- Post on their blog relating to the environment on Blog Action Day
- Donate their day’s earnings to an environmental charity
- Promote Blog Action Day around the web
The Digerati Life is proud to be a part of this event. Make sure to visit us then and join in on the conversation!
Picks From My Regular Reads
- Money Smart Life: Free trial offers, anyone? Recognize that it may just be another sales tactic that could snare the unsuspecting!
- Lazy Man and Money: I was shocked to hear that Lazy resigned from his software engineering job. I can sympathize with him completely as we pretty much have similar jobs which we’ve been treating in the same way.
- Gen X Finance: Here’s a great article that provides some helpful guidelines about how to measure investment performance accurately.
- Money, Matter and More Musings: Do you preserve the “newness” of your purchases by keeping the plastic (packaging or labels) on? I actually don’t but I sure do know a lot of people who do!
- The Sun’s Financial Diary: Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine has published some of its top recommendations for stocks, mutual funds and other financial services, which you can view here.
- The Simple Dollar: A great guest article by Zen Habits finds its way to The Simple Dollar: Fight your impulse buying tendencies by trying these tips!
- All Financial Matters: I am intrigued by JLP’s home remodeling project, so I will keep track of his progress here. I sure enjoy before and after photos of new and improved rooms!
- Five Cent Nickel: Nickel speculates on the various reasons why a collection agency has contacted him, leaving him mysterious voicemail.
- Blueprint For Financial Prosperity: If you want to know what a Double Top, a Double Bottom and a Cup and Handle (no they are not on the bar menu) are, then mosey on over to this discussion of Technical Indicators.
- Mighty Bargain Hunter: MBHunter once more raises the subject of keeping accounts separate or joint. As I may have mentioned in the past, all our accounts are owned jointly for simplicity. And we’re pretty satisfied with this arrangement.
- No Credit Needed: NCN offers a challenge: how about pretending you received a pay cut? Then see how well you live on your smaller income. Chances are, you’ll be just fine and you’ll be able to place whatever money you save from the hypothetical pay cut towards any debt or your savings account!
- Free Money Finance: How valuable is it for you to have flexible work hours? My answer is: extremely valuable and I’m sure that’s the case for all those with kids to raise! I’d probably give up 10% of my salary for it.
- Blogging Away Debt: This tooth fairy is a pretty generous and wise one, by offering her little one a $25 savings bond on the loss of his first tooth. A wonderful idea for all tooth fairies out there!

Coincidentally, I have just watched the movie, The 11th Hour. I have researched some global warming tips for Blog Action Day.
Thanks for the reminder SVB.
Pinoy Tech,
Please register your blog over at the Blog Action Day site! Then you can be officially listed as a participant of this event. I’ll be going around the blog community next week to visit the Blog Action Day sites.
I have. I will be going around too and I think there will be a great response to this important day.
It should be interesting to read blogs on Monday – a lot of the larger blogs are participating as well. No doubt that it will have some type of impact.
Kudos to you for participating in blog action day.
I decided to write a belated post of my own about an environmental issue that might strike a cord with some of your readers:
Brazilian teak hardwood floors, slave labor, and the destruction of the rain forest.
You can find it at:

Keep up your good work.
Thank you!
