Top Traffic Sources and Commentators For August, 2008

by Silicon Valley Blogger on September 1, 2008

We were caught up in a lot of social events this Labor Day weekend, so I’ve been basking under the sun more often than I’ve been facing the computer, for a change. :) But now that August is over, let me take the chance to invite you to pick up our site’s content quickly and easily via RSS feed or through email. By doing so, you’ll get fresh daily updates from The Digerati Life automatically.

With the end of the month, more thanks are in order to those of you who visited our site and joined us in our discussions, as well as to our top commentators and traffic generators.

Speaking of which, I noticed something interesting about some commentators — I notice a lot more comments by the same people appearing towards the end of the month. Hmmm…. interesting tactic, if your goal is to make my top commentators list, which I absolutely encourage especially if you’re using your names (not key words) for the links you leave behind.

I’d also like to provide this gentle reminder about my comment policy: if you have a commercial site (or blog) and you are leaving comments while using competitive key words as your handle, I reserve the right to remove and disallow the use of certain key words while I keep your comments and links usually intact (subject to review). On the other hand, I’ve had the pleasure to read some great comments from those behind such sites, and I welcome your visits here. But in keeping with the spirit of the blogosphere, I’d like to keep our end-of-the-month acknowledgments to bloggers and readers.

Moving on to our site supporters this month…

What a great idea to post the “top commentator” and “top traffic source” lists. I’m still finding my way around the stats, but I am fairly certain that you would be in my “Top 2″ list of traffic generators for August, and I much appreciate it!

@RetiredAt47,

I’m really happy about that! :) I hope I’m able to pass others some traffic as well.

Keep writing good stuff that I can make asinine comments on, and I’ll keep leaving asinine comments. :)

I hope you don’t mind the “jim of Blueprint for Financial Prosperity,” name, there are more and more Jims and I’ve even gotten confused on my own site. (’hey! i didn’t write that!”)

@Jim,

Yes, I like your very long title :D ! There are many Jims around and some others who aren’t named Jim who just want to hijack your name! LOL. :) Definitely keep the asinine comments coming — the more, the merrier!

You know what would be really cool? It would be awesome if you posted how much traffic the folks were passing. Or if that’s secret type stuff, some aggregation of said numbers so it couldn’t be pegged to each person. I dunno what it adds to most folks, but I find myself intrigued by stats, totals, averages, etc.

I hope Sept’s treating you well!

I think its great that you post who comments the most on a monthly basis. This is one of my favorite blogs and I think its great that I can be rewarded for reading all the awesome posts all day. Thanks again!

If you search this blog for grocery coupon sites, you’ll find some information in my archives. Thanks.
